Affordable Living Food Gardens
Nourish All designs and builds food gardens in low-income and affordable housing communities to provide residents an accessible source of fresh produce steps away from their doors. We work nationwide with innovative property developers, owners, and operators and community partners who are committed to the intersection of affordable housing and food access.
Ke Kumu Ekahi
Nourish All designed and built food gardens at Ke Kumu Ekahi, a 48-unit affordable housing property on the Big Island of Hawai'i, managed by Hawai'i Affordable Properties. We revitalized a one-quarter acre space with raised beds, containers, and spiral gardens filled with over 40 varieties of edible plants expected to yield over 1,500 lbs of food annually. Ft. Bragg
Nourish All provided consultation services to a prestigious property developer for their 69-unit new construction affordable housing project in Ft. Bragg, California. We advised on edible landscape design for communal gardens and individual growing spaces as well as recommendations for a gardening program for future residents.
Skill-building Workshops
Backyard Food Forests
Nourish All partnered with a Maui-based permaculture educator to offer a Backyard Food Forest workshop to a 20-person group on the Big Island of Hawai'i. We delivered a lecture on the principles of permaculture tree guilds followed by a practical hands-on transformation of a backyard with fruit trees, perennial greens, and medicinal plants.
